Privacy Policy

Effective November 7, 2026. Last updated November 7, 2026.

The short version: we collect what you give us when you book a call or ask for the guide, plus basic analytics about how the site is used. We use it to talk with you and to improve the site. We don't sell it, and we never share your mobile number for anyone's marketing.

Who we are

Clarity Commerce is run by Christopher Lang, Founder, in Apex, North Carolina, United States. Clarity Commerce is a trade name of Optimize Web Development, LLC. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Clarity Commerce.

This policy covers claritycommerce.io (the "site"), the forms and calendar on it, and the emails and text messages that follow from them. The site is informational: you can read about our work, get a free guide and book a free 15-minute call. Nothing is sold on the site. Paid work happens only under a signed proposal and agreement, which has its own terms about confidentiality and client data.

What we collect

What you give us

  • When you book a call: your first and last name, email, mobile number, store website, annual revenue range, what's going on with your store, what prompted the call, and the time you pick.
  • When you ask for the free guide: your email address.
  • Text message consent: if you check the box to get texts, we record that you agreed, the number, and when.
  • When you contact us or talk with us: what you write in emails and texts, and what you share on a call.

What is collected automatically

  • Device and visit details: IP address, browser and device type, approximate location based on IP, pages you view, how long you stay, and how you found the site (for example a search, a link or an ad).
  • How you use some pages: clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, which Microsoft Clarity turns into heatmaps and session replays.
  • Video viewing: whether you play a video and how much of it you watch.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, explained in Cookies and opting out.

We don't take payments on the site, so we never see or store card numbers here. We don't ask for sensitive information like health details or government ID numbers, so please don't send them.

How we use it

  • To schedule your call and send the confirmation, reminders and meeting link.
  • To prepare for the call, including looking at the store website you gave us.
  • To reply to you and follow up about your enquiry by email, and by text if you opted in.
  • To send the guide you asked for.
  • To understand how people use the site and make it better.
  • To measure whether our ads work.
  • To keep the site and forms secure and block spam and bots.
  • To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers below, who help us run the site and talk with you, and when the law requires it.

Tools we use

These companies handle information for us. Each has its own privacy policy.

GoHighLevel
Hosts the site and runs our forms, booking calendar, contact records, email, text messages and chat conversations. It also sends booking and form events to Meta to measure our ads (see Meta below).
Google Analytics
Counts visits and shows which pages are used, using cookies. Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Microsoft Clarity
Records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement on some pages as heatmaps and session replays, using first and third party cookies, so we can see where the site is confusing and fix it. Microsoft may also use this data for security and fraud prevention. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
The Meta pixel measures visits from our ads. When you submit a form or book a call, we may send Meta a hashed (scrambled) copy of your email or phone number with that event, so Meta can match it to an account and tell us whether an ad worked. Meta may use this to measure and show ads. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
Wistia
Plays the videos on our case study page and records basic viewing data.
Zoom
Runs the video calls you book with us.
Cloudflare
Delivers the site, protects it from attacks, and checks form submissions for bots. It processes your IP address and browser details to do this.
Microsoft 365
Our email, for messages you send to [email protected].
AI note-taking tools
Record, transcribe and summarize calls. See Calls and AI notes.

Text messages (SMS)

If you opt in, for example by checking the text message box when you book a call, Clarity Commerce texts you from +1-844-234-5302 at the number you gave us. We send booking confirmations, reminders and changes, and follow-up about your enquiry. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of booking a call or buying anything.

  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help, or email [email protected].
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Our messaging provider (GoHighLevel) and the mobile carriers handle your number only to deliver our messages. More details are in the text message section of our Terms and Conditions.

Calls, recordings and AI notes

Calls with us may be recorded and transcribed, and we use AI note-taking tools to write notes and summaries. We do this so we can listen properly instead of taking notes, and so nothing you tell us gets lost. We'll tell you at the start of a recorded call. If you'd rather not be recorded, say so and we'll turn it off.

Recordings, transcripts and notes are used only to follow up with you and, if you hire us, to do the work. The note-taking tools process them for us under their own security and privacy terms.

Cookies and how to opt out

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We and the tools above use them to keep forms and the calendar working, protect the site from bots, count visits, record how pages are used, and measure ads. Google, Meta and Microsoft may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your activity on this site and on other websites over time.

You can opt out in several ways:

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed standard for what it should do, so the site does not change how it works when it receives one. The site also doesn't respond automatically to Global Privacy Control signals today. You can still opt out using the options in Cookies and how to opt out, or by emailing us.

How long we keep it

  • Contact details, booking answers, emails, texts and call notes: while we're talking, and up to 3 years after our last contact. Then we delete them. If you become a client, your signed agreement and our tax and legal record-keeping duties decide how long we keep project records.
  • Text message consent records: while you're subscribed, and as long as we need them afterward to show that you agreed.
  • Analytics and ad data: according to each tool's own settings and limits.

If you ask us to delete your information, we'll do it sooner, except anything we must keep by law.

Your choices and rights

  • See, correct or delete your information. Email [email protected]. We'll confirm it's you and reply within 45 days.
  • Stop emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or reply and ask.
  • Stop texts. Reply STOP.
  • Opt out of ad measurement. See Cookies and how to opt out, or email us.

California and other state privacy rights

If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon or another state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale or its use for targeted advertising. We don't sell personal information for money. Using the Meta pixel may count as "sharing" for advertising under some of these laws, and you can opt out of it as described above. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.

You or someone you authorize can make a request by emailing us. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying with "Appeal" in the subject line, and we'll explain our decision. We honor these requests wherever you live.

Children

The site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We use established providers, limit who can see your information, and keep our accounts locked down. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security, but we take it seriously and will tell you if a breach affects your information as the law requires.

We and our providers store and process information in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be handled in the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also put a notice on the site or email you if we have your address.
